Brief
During the COVID-19 pandemic, uncertainty and global travel restrictions reshaped how people experienced the world. With movement limited, there was a renewed desire to reconnect with environments beyond immediate surroundings and to find calm in moments of stillness.
Vantages was conceived as a photography book compiling self-produced images of terrain and architecture from various regions, encouraging viewers to slow down, reflect, and rediscover an appreciation for everyday landscapes and built environments.
Challenge
How can a photography book offer a sense of calm and inspiration, using imagery of the world to uplift viewers during a time of physical and emotional distance?

The publication was designed using contrasting themes and varied layout arrangements to create visual rhythm and intentional pacing throughout the book. By pairing expansive landscapes with architectural details, the work presents a balanced exploration of place as it invites viewers to engage with each image thoughtfully rather than passively. Designed to function as both a collectible coffee-table book and an immersive viewing experience,
Vantages was printed and distributed locally and internationally. The initial print run of over 60 copies sold out, placing the book into the homes of landscape and photography enthusiasts seeking moments of inspiration and reflection.
